Award of Merit: Higher Education 2006 – NY Construction Best Awards
Danbury, CT
The new Science Building is the first publicly funded building in Connecticut to earn LEED Certification at the silver level. The facility is a 122,000 square foot, three story structure containing laboratories, classrooms, lecture halls, an astronomy observatory, a greenhouse, and faculty offices. The mechanical and plumbing systems installed to allow optimum functioning of the laboratories included high pressure steam, chilled water, acid neutralization, vacuum, compressed air and pure water systems. Installation of ductwork throughout the facility included over 2,000 lbs. of welded, shop fabricated stainless steel ductwork.
