School of Forestry
New Haven, CT

The School of Forestry and Environmental Studies is currently under construction and scheduled for completion in December of 2008. It is a premiere example of sustainable design and will seek a Platinum rating from the U.S. Green Building Council through the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. Once complete, the new building will be dedicated as Kroon Hall. The interior space will provide offices for more than 50 faculty and staff members, and will include three classrooms, a 175 seat auditorium, an environment center, a learning center, and a library. Mechanical and plumbing systems will include installation of an energy recovery system, solar panels, and a gray water recycling system, as well as a geothermal system.
